IAAC Graduation 2017 at the BMICH

The Inaugural Convocation ceremony of the International Airline and Aviation College also known as IAAC was held on the 22nd of March 2017 at the BMICH premises amidst the gathering of IAAC graduates, parents, Airline Managers and well wishers.
The Chief guest of the event was Ms. Malkanthi Jayawardena ,Director General, Tertiary and Vocational Education Commission which is coming under the Ministry of Skills Development and Vocational Training in Sri Lanka.
Speaking on this event Ms. Jayawardena mentioned the current demand for skilled workforce in the fast growing aviation industry, and praised the management and the panel of the lecturers for their untiring commitment in bringing deserving students from all parts of the island and offering courses at an affordable cost so that they could persue their childhood dream.
Speaking further, Ms. Jayawardena offered the continued support to IAAC from the Ministry of Skills Development and Vocational Training in Sri Lanka to upgrade their current courses to an equivalent National Vocational Qualification also known as NVQ level so that the qualified graduates from IAAC could easily find gainful employment both in Sri Lanka and abroad in the future.
Among the Keynote Speakers was Mr. Rex Fernandez, the Director of training of IAAC who mentioned the fact that in spite of being in operation for a very short period of time how IAAC has established itself as a leading Aviation training center in Sri Lanka currently offering Operational Courses like Cabin Crew Training, Airport Ground Operations, Ticketing Reservations and Marketing and Air Cargo Operations.
Mr. Fernandez also pointed out the fact that the lecturers attached to the IAAC Faculty are all qualified Airline staff with many years, to be more specific decades of service in the airline industry.
Among the distinguished invitees who graced the occasion were Mr. Rayhan Wanniappa (Director Air Transport and Economic Regulation – Civil Aviation Authority of Sri Lanka), Mr. Sudesh Rupasinghe (Country Manager- Kuwait Airways) ,Mr. Lalith Weerasinghe (Deputy Head of Airport Management –Airport and Aviation Services Sri Lanka Limited), Mr. Sanjika Perera (Country Manager – Sabre Travel Network APAC), Mr. Niranjan Attapathu (Genaral Manager – Kuwait Airways GSA),Ms. Madhumita Guptha (Airport Services Manger – Air India), Mr. Premkumar Krishnan (Airport Services Manager – Cathey Pacific Airlines) and Ms. Roshani Masakorala (Airport Services Manager- Ethihad Airlines).
